2. General information
Fake Artist’s Muse is an Android app for private game rounds built around the Fake Artist principle. It supports rounds with four or more players, loads prompts and categories, and assigns the Fake Artist role on the device. The app can be used without a user account, registration or sign-in.
The app does not create user profiles and does not transmit names, email addresses, user accounts or free-text input to the responsible party. However, for retrieving prompts and for the voluntary rating of individual prompts, the technical data described in section 4 is processed.
3. Locally stored data
The app may store local data on the user's device. This includes in particular:
- settings such as app language, prompt language or game options
- local app state for the current round
- locally cached prompt lists or categories, where applicable
Roles and game information are generally processed locally on the device. Ratings of individual prompts may be transmitted to the responsible party's server as described in section 4.
Depending on Android and device settings, local app data may be backed up by the operating system or by Google. The responsible party has no direct access to such backups.
4. Prompt retrieval and prompt ratings
The app loads prompts and categories from a server operated by the responsible party. For this purpose, technical request data such as the selected language code, already used prompt IDs and a technical access token may be transmitted.
Users can rate displayed prompts positively or negatively. When a prompt is rated, the ID of the rated prompt and the type of rating, positive or negative, are transmitted to the server. The rating is used solely to improve the quality of the prompt list.
The app does not transmit user accounts, names, email addresses, free-text feedback or device identifiers for this feature. The app is not designed to assign ratings to a specific person.
When accessing the server, technically necessary access data may be processed, in particular IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, HTTP status and browser or app/device information where transmitted as part of the request. This data is processed to provide the feature, analyze errors and maintain server security.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in providing the app features, improving the prompt list and operating the server securely.
5. Game content and pass-and-play
The app displays game information on the device so the device can be passed to other players. Depending on the game flow, other players may see the prompt or the Fake Artist role screen.
This display happens locally on the device and is part of the game flow.
6. Permissions
Based on the current development state, the app does not use location data, contacts, camera, microphone or comparable sensitive permissions.
If permissions change during development, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
7. External links and tracking
Based on the current implementation, the app does not use third-party tracking SDKs, analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs.
If the app contains external links, they open in the browser. The privacy policies of the respective operators apply to any personal data processed on external websites.
8. Deleting local data
Locally stored app data can be deleted by clearing the app data in the Android system settings or by uninstalling the app.
9. Data transfer to third parties
The app itself does not transfer personal data to third parties for advertising, analytics or tracking purposes.
When downloading and using the app through Google Play, data may be processed by Google. Google's privacy policy applies to that processing.

Where personal data is processed, users have rights under the GDPR, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and complaint to a data protection supervisory authority.
